What is the StockWire X Market Impact Score?
The Market Impact Score is a proprietary AiGentic scoring system that rates how meaningful and market-moving an ASX announcement is likely to be, assessed in real time, at the moment of release.
Rather than labelling news as simply “good” or “bad”, the score evaluates the real-world significance of each announcement across three dimensions:
- Event substance — what actually happened and what it means for the company
- Company context — size, capital structure, and financial leverage
- Disclosure quality — how clearly and convincingly the news is communicated, and how the market is likely to interpret it
Each announcement is scored on a 1–10 scale. Higher scores indicate announcements more likely to attract investor attention and drive capital inflows. Lower scores indicate developments that may erode investor confidence and contribute to outflows.
How to read the score
- 1–4: Negative developments, likely to weaken investor confidence
- 5: Neutral or informational updates with limited immediate market impact
- 6–7: Moderately positive announcements that may support re-rating and attract capital
- 8–9: Strong catalysts with clear market relevance and heightened investor interest
- 10: Exceptional catalysts — rare, high-conviction announcements with the potential to materially shift investor perception
The score reflects net market impact — not volatility, hype, or short-term price movement.
What makes it different
The Market Impact Score is not a sentiment label or a trading signal. It is designed to help investors quickly answer one question:
“How much does this announcement actually matter?”
By combining event significance with market psychology, the score surfaces announcements more likely to drive genuine investor engagement — while filtering out routine, low-signal, and confidence-eroding updates.
Important Note:
The Market Impact Score does not predict future share price movements and should not be interpreted as investment advice. It is a contextual intelligence tool designed to support faster, more informed analysis.
