Remplir™ lands in Thailand as Orthocell expands Asian nerve repair footprint
Orthocell Limited (ASX: OCC) has achieved its first commercial sales of Remplir™ in Thailand, marking another step in the company’s Asian and global commercialisation strategy. Thailand’s nerve repair market is estimated at US$84 million, based on reference papers from US and international databases and studies. The milestone follows Thai FDA approval and the appointment of MediTime as Orthocell’s exclusive in-country distributor. The company holds A$44.1 million in available funds as at 30 June 2026, with no debt.

MediTime partnership opens the door to Thailand’s hospital network
MediTime is a specialist orthopaedics and sports medicine distributor with national coverage across leading hospitals, medical schools, and regional centres in Thailand. The distributor holds an established commercial position in upper extremity orthopaedic surgery, providing direct access to Orthocell’s core customer base of orthopaedic and plastic surgeons.
MediTime’s model is built on surgeon education and strong relationships with key opinion leaders, supporting both near-term adoption and long-term market development. Orthocell’s Commercial Director, Asia Pacific, Hamish Thrum, is in-country this week working closely with MediTime to train sales representatives and build surgeon engagement.
Managing Director Paul Anderson acknowledged that near-term volumes are expected to be modest, while highlighting the medium-to-long-term growth potential the Thai market presents.
Paul Anderson, Managing Director
“Achieving our first sales in Thailand marks an important milestone for Remplir in Asia and reflects the quality of the product, our supporting clinical data and our partnership with MediTime…”
Why Thailand? Understanding the market opportunity
Peripheral nerve repair surgery addresses damage to the nerves outside the brain and spinal cord, which can result from trauma, lacerations, or surgical complications. Remplir™ is a collagen-based medical device designed for peripheral nerve reconstruction, forming part of Orthocell’s broader regenerative medicine portfolio. Rather than relying on traditional repair techniques, Remplir™ is intended to support nerve tissue reconstruction.
Remplir clinical outcomes published from an expanded 66-patient real-world study demonstrated an 89.7% overall treatment success rate across 78 procedures, with zero adverse events reported, providing the clinical narrative that underpins surgeon adoption in new markets.
Thailand presents a strategically meaningful opportunity for several reasons. The country operates a sophisticated healthcare system with a well-developed hospital network that supports advanced surgical procedures. Its strong medical tourism sector makes it a key market in Asia.
Thailand’s estimated US$84 million nerve repair market sits within Orthocell’s broader Asian growth strategy. It is worth noting that this figure is estimated using reference papers from US and international databases and studies.
Remplir’s global footprint and what comes next
Remplir™ is now approved for sale and generating revenue across seven markets:
- Australia
- New Zealand
- USA
- Canada
- Singapore
- Hong Kong
- Thailand (new)
The next major catalyst on the horizon is expected regulatory approval in the EU and UK in 2H CY26, which would open access to an estimated US$750 million EU/UK nerve repair market. That market size figure carries the same caveat as the Thai estimate: it is derived from reference papers from US and international databases and studies.
Orthocell has already secured LEDA Orthopaedics as its exclusive UK distributor, with the partnership bringing over 40 direct sales representatives and dedicated cadaveric training facilities to accelerate surgeon uptake once regulatory clearance lands.
Orthocell’s financial position supports continued execution. With A$44.1 million in available funds and no debt as at 30 June 2026, the company is positioned to advance its commercialisation agenda without near-term capital pressure. Each new market entry and first-sale milestone builds the revenue base and progressively de-risks the global commercialisation story ahead of the larger EU/UK opportunity.
