Felix™ clears Thai FDA hurdle, unlocking earlier-than-planned commercial sales
Memphasys (ASX: MEM) has received earlier-than-anticipated Thai FDA approval for its Felix™ System, removing the final regulatory condition required to commence commercial sales across Thailand.
The clearance activates the company’s exclusive three-year distribution agreement with IVF Envimed Co., Ltd., an arrangement with a minimum contracted value of approximately A$430,500 over three years.
Early commercial validation has followed quickly. A strong response from Thai clinics prompted IVF Envimed to place a second order for 100 cartridges plus three paid consoles, building on its initial order. For investors, the approval converts a contracted commitment into active revenue generation ahead of schedule.

Approval activates the three-year distribution agreement
The Thai FDA approval removed the final regulatory condition required before commercial sales could begin under the distribution agreement. First announced on 1 July 2026, the agreement grants IVF Envimed exclusive rights to sell and distribute the Felix™ System in Thailand, with a minimum contracted value of approximately A$430,500 over three years.
Thai FDA approval also activates the contract term, under which IVF Envimed must meet minimum purchase quantities (MPQs) that increase progressively as market penetration grows:
- Year 1: $75,000
- Year 2: $143,000 (91% YoY growth)
- Year 3: $212,000 (49% YoY growth)
Memphasys believes there is potential for Year 1 revenue to exceed the contracted minimum of $75,000, subject to the timing and level of customer demand. The escalating MPQs give investors visibility on a growing, contracted revenue floor.
Strong early demand drives a second order
Positive clinic response prompted IVF Envimed to place an additional order for 100 Felix™ cartridges and three paid consoles, in addition to the initial order of 100 cartridges and three consoles placed when the agreement was signed.
According to Memphasys, the demand has been driven by the potential clinical benefits of Felix™, including improved embryo utilisation and reduced sperm DNA fragmentation, together with its six-minute, simple and standardised sperm preparation process.

Marjan Mikel, Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Commercialisation Committee
“The early response to Felix™ from Thai IVF clinics has been extremely positive, and Envimed has responded by promptly ordering more Felix cartridges and consoles. That is exactly the commercial validation we want to see. We believe this is the start of a strong partnership with Envimed and, based on this early demand, we are confident of exceeding our Year 1 minimum contracted revenue.”
Understanding the Thai IVF market opportunity
Thailand ranks among South-East Asia’s largest assisted reproductive technology (ART) markets, providing a sizeable base of clinics for Felix™ adoption. The scale of the market is defined by several structural indicators:
- 20,000–30,000 IVF cycles conducted annually
- 110 registered IVF clinics nationwide
- More than 95% of cycles involve ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection)
The high prevalence of ICSI across Thai cycles underpins structural demand for advanced sperm selection devices such as Felix™.
Each Felix™ procedure uses a single disposable cartridge. As clinics adopt the system and utilisation increases, that consumable model provides the potential for recurring revenue rather than one-off equipment sales.
A ready-made distribution platform
IVF Envimed is a Bangkok-based IVF market specialist with more than 15 years of experience serving the Thai reproductive medicine sector, holding established relationships with all 110 registered IVF clinics in Thailand.
The distributor also operates the infrastructure required for an immediate rollout:
- Six-person field sales team
- Cold-chain logistics
- Two service engineers
- Established clinical education programs
This existing network removes typical market-entry friction, allowing Memphasys to plug into an established platform for clinic engagement, product deployment and ongoing clinical support rather than building one from scratch.
Building the South-East Asian commercialisation footprint
The Thai approval follows the company’s recent Vietnamese regulatory approval and advances Memphasys’ broader South-East Asian commercialisation strategy. The Thailand agreement and the company’s two-year agreement with TMSC Viet Nam Medical Technology Company Limited carry a combined minimum contracted value of approximately A$1.0 million.
Vietnamese regulatory approval preceded the Thai clearance and established the template for Memphasys’ South-East Asian entry model: a contracted distributor with in-market clinical experience, minimum purchase obligations, and an initial cartridge and console order placed ahead of formal regulatory sign-off.
| Market | Partner | Agreement Term | Minimum Contracted Value | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Thailand | IVF Envimed | 3 years | ~A$430,500 | Approved, sales commencing |
| Vietnam | TMSC Viet Nam | 2 years | Not separately disclosed | Approved |
| Combined | — | — | ~A$1.0 million | — |
The commencement of the Thai agreement expands the company’s growing international commercial network and provides a further pathway for converting contracted commitments into product supply and recurring cartridge sales.
What comes next for Memphasys
Near-term activity will focus on delivery of the first-quarter order, working with IVF Envimed to train and upskill its dedicated Felix™ staff, clinic onboarding, clinical education and the commencement of commercial use.
Memphasys has stated it will provide further updates as clinic placements, cartridge utilisation and subsequent orders become material. The company has also noted that a number of additional markets and partners are now in advanced commercial discussions, with further updates on new commercial agreements expected in the near term.
For investors, the Thai launch reinforces a repeatable model: converting regulatory approvals into contracted, recurring cartridge revenue across an expanding set of South-East Asian geographies.
