About (ASX: GEN)
Genmin Limited is an ASX-listed mining company focused on developing high-value iron ore projects in the Republic of Gabon, west Central Africa. The company’s flagship Baniaka Project, located in south-east Gabon, is positioned to become the country’s first iron ore mine. With a 20-year mining permit and environmental approval already secured, Genmin is targeting initial production of 5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with plans to scale up to at least 10 Mtpa in the future.
The company’s strategic advantage lies in its project location near existing infrastructure, including bulk commodity transport and renewable energy networks. Genmin’s Baniaka Hub comprises multiple projects, including the Baniaka and Bakoumba iron ore deposits, which have established JORC Mineral Resource and Ore Reserve estimates. The company is currently engaged in discussions with potential financing partners to support the project’s development, with commercial production targeted for late 2026.
Beyond its primary iron ore focus, Genmin has additional exploration tenure at its Bitam project in north-west Gabon, which shows potential for polymetallic mineralization. The company’s approach emphasizes sustainable and efficient development, positioning itself as an emerging producer of greener, higher-value iron ore. With 100% ownership of its projects and approximately 4,469 km² of exploration and mining licenses, Genmin is strategically positioned to become a significant player in the African iron ore market.
