Serko lifts outlook as first-half trading beats expectations
Serko Limited (NZX/ASX: SKO) advised on 27 October 2026 that first-half trading performance has been stronger than anticipated, driven by an acceleration in completed room nights. The update points to a change in FY27 guidance ahead of the scheduled results.
Serko anticipates the momentum will continue in the second half, with underlying growth continuing on a seasonally adjusted basis. A guidance signal issued ahead of formal results gives investors an early read on current trading.
Key signals from the update:
- A modest upward revision to FY27 total income guidance is expected
- Total spend is projected to be towards the middle of its guided range
- Positive free cash flow is expected for the first half and FY27

What the guidance update means: income, spend and cash flow
Total income guidance
The current FY27 total income guidance range is $128m-$134m. Serko expects to make a modest upward revision to that range at its 1H27 results on 16 November 2026.
Spend and free cash flow
Total spend is projected to be towards the middle of the $132m-$140m range. Serko also expects to report positive free cash flow for both the six months ended 30 September 2026 and the FY27 year.
Income guidance moving higher while spend sits towards the middle of its range supports the cash generation outlook.

Completed room nights: why this metric matters
Completed room nights is a non-GAAP measure. It comprises the number of unmanaged hotel room nights that have been booked and where the traveller has completed the stay at the hotel.
The measure reflects stays actually completed, making it a volume indicator tied to Serko’s core business. Non-GAAP measures do not have standardised meanings prescribed by GAAP, so they may not be comparable with similar figures presented by other entities.
Two other terms used in the update are defined by Serko as follows:
- Free cash flow: GAAP cash flows excluding movements between cash and short-term investments, cash flows related to capital raises and strategic acquisition payments.
- Total spend: operating expenses and capitalised development costs, excluding depreciation and amortisation.
Core business takes the lead in FY27 growth
At its full year results on 20 May 2026, Serko noted its FY27 guidance range was primarily driven by the timing of booking volumes from the strategic initiative targeting defined US corporate segments.
With the initiative in its early stages, Serko does not currently expect it to meaningfully contribute to FY27 total income. Strong momentum in Serko’s core business is now expected to be the primary driver of FY27 growth.
For investors, that ties the growth outlook to the established business rather than an early stage initiative.
Serko’s Investor Day update in March 2026 laid out a $250 million FY30 revenue aspiration built on core business growth, Serko.ai upside and defined US corporate segments, the framework against which the current FY27 guidance momentum is being measured.
What happens next for Serko

- 1H27 results on 16 November 2026: Serko expects to make the modest upward revision to FY27 total income guidance, and will provide a full update, including further detail on the FY27 outlook and progress on its strategic initiatives.
- Free cash flow reporting: Serko expects to report positive free cash flow for the six months ended 30 September 2026 and for the FY27 year.
