What the Mayo Clinic Platform Accelerate program offers
According to the announcement, Mayo Clinic Platform Accelerate works with digital health companies and provides:
- A structured program working with digital health companies
- Access to Mayo Clinic Platform data and capabilities
- Engagement with Mayo Clinic experts
Through the program, Cortical Dynamics intends to further validate and refine its approach to perioperative monitoring and prediction, and to test how its technology performs against data environments at scale.
Ashley Zimpel, Chief Executive Officer, Cortical Dynamics Limited
“Participation in Mayo Clinic Platform Accelerate gives us access to expertise and data capabilities that are directly relevant to the questions we are working through, and we intend to use the program to sharpen the evidence base behind both products.”
A stronger evidence base is the stated aim of participation, not a result achieved to date.
Two products in focus: BARM 2.0 and CORDYAN
Perioperative monitoring refers to tracking patient status around surgery. Evidence and data validation matter for medical devices because hospitals generally look for supporting data before adopting new technology.
Cortical Dynamics is advancing two products, summarised below.
| Product | What it does | Investor relevance |
|---|---|---|
| BARM 2.0 | Measures what happens to a patient’s brain under anaesthesia. | Program intended to help refine evidence base |
| CORDYAN | A perioperative software platform intended to give hospital teams predictive information across the surgical pathway. | Program intended to help validate and refine its approach to perioperative monitoring and prediction |
According to the company description, the BARM 2.0 monitor, single-use BarSensor and CORDYAN software platform are designed to give anaesthetists and hospital care teams clearer information about a patient’s brain state during and around surgery.
What the selection means for BPH Energy shareholders
The selection adds third-party program participation to the Cortical Dynamics story and keeps BPH’s life sciences exposure in view. The announcement does not attach financial figures to the selection.
Cortical Dynamics will provide further updates on its participation in due course. Participation in Mayo Clinic Platform Accelerate does not constitute endorsement, certification or approval by Mayo Clinic.
