Nodestream (ASX: NS1) launches Missions, a live shared operational picture for defence teams
Nodestream Ltd (ASX: NS1) has announced that Missions, its collaborative mission-data platform for defence communications, will go live over the weekend of 24 October 2026. It is the first new product delivered under Plan Consilience, and marks the move from development-complete to commercial availability.
Plan Consilience, the Company’s strategy focused on defence, national security and government markets, was announced on 17 June 2026. Missions was reported as development-complete in the June 2026 quarterly activities report, released on 29 July 2026.
Missions brings live video, audio and data from field devices into a single, browser-based workspace. It is designed to work across low-bandwidth and unreliable networks.
For investors, the launch is a delivery milestone against a stated strategy. It is not yet a revenue event.

How Missions works: proven transport technology plus a collaborative layer
Missions builds on Nodestream’s established transport protocol, which is already used by Defence customers in the field. It adds a collaborative operational layer that brings individual feeds together into a shared mission picture.
Built for degraded networks
In internal testing conducted in April 2026, the Nodestream platform continued to deliver usable video at packet loss rates of up to 40%, at available bandwidths of 200 kbps and 1,000 kbps under the test conditions. These results are based on the Company’s own testing and have not been independently verified.
Current product capabilities support up to 16 simultaneous video streams and 20 data streams per encoding node. The platform operates over existing network infrastructure, including satellite, LTE/5G, tactical IP radio and mesh networks.
Key features
The announcement lists four key features:
- Unified workspace: live field feeds, browser-based video and audio collaboration, and multi-user coordination in a single operational environment.
- Shared operational picture: teams in different locations work from the same live view of an operation.
- Unified distribution: one-to-one transmission and one-to-many distribution within a single workflow.
- Enhanced platform capabilities: regional streaming, security enhancements and improved device management.
Missions is designed to integrate beneath command-and-control (C2), autonomy and mission applications rather than compete with them. That positioning is relevant to adoption, as customers are not asked to replace existing systems.
Why resilient communications matter in defence
Packet loss occurs when small units of data fail to arrive across a network. Constrained bandwidth means the connection can carry only limited data at once. Both can disrupt the flow of critical information in field operations, including live video.
A shared operational picture lets teams in different locations work from the same live view. According to the announcement, remote specialists can actively contribute to operational decision-making, rather than simply observe.
For investors, the product targets an operational pain point in the defence, national security and government markets that Plan Consilience is aimed at.
Commercial model and go-to-market
Missions is offered on a tiered subscription basis, with an enterprise sales pathway for requirements beyond the standard tiers.
| Element | Detail |
|---|---|
| Pricing model | Tiered subscriptions, with discounts for annual prepayment |
| Users | Unlimited users on all plans |
| Add-ons | Additional streaming devices and data |
| Enterprise pathway | Expected route for most Defence and government customers |
| Existing product | Missions replaces Views, with customers transitioned with direct support |
The launch is phased. Commercial prospects are being reached through digital channels, while the Business Development team is approaching Defence and national security organisations directly.
The Company plans to sell both directly to end users and through primes, systems integrators and connectivity providers, including in its priority US and European markets. The result is a simplified product portfolio and a subscription model positioned to scale.
Nodestream’s US defence market entry is being built in stages, starting with an independent market assessment and a national security advisory engagement, and now extending to in-market executive support ahead of any procurement activity.
What investors should watch next
Missions is a new product. At the date of the announcement, it has not generated revenue, and the Company has not entered into any material contracts.
According to the Company, how quickly Missions is adopted and how much revenue it brings in will depend on:
- Customer take-up
- Moving existing Views customers across
- For Defence and government customers, procurement, accreditation and integration processes
The Company has stated it will keep the market informed in line with its continuous disclosure obligations.
