The transaction terms at a glance

The deal mechanics reflect a modest, cash-funded bolt-on rather than a leveraged expansion.

WTL’s cash position nearly doubled over FY2026, rising from $9.8 million to $16.8 million, giving the company capacity to fund acquisitions like this one from existing holdings without requiring external capital or diluting shareholders.

Completion is expected shortly, subject to satisfaction of the remaining completion requirements.

What paraplanning is, and why it matters to advice firms

Paraplanning is the specialist back-office function that prepares statements of advice and the technical documentation supporting financial advisers. Paraplanners handle the detailed research, modelling and compliance-heavy paperwork that sits behind client recommendations, allowing advisers to focus on client-facing work.

For advice practices, access to scalable specialist capacity is increasingly important. Outsourced paraplanning offers a flexible alternative to adding fixed internal headcount, enabling firms to expand output without permanent overhead.

This positions paraplanning as a recurring, capacity-driven service line. As practices grow, demand for high-quality document production tends to scale alongside them, giving providers like TNT a repeatable revenue base tied to industry activity.

A “race to the top” in quality and technology

WTL Managing Director Keith Cullen said the Company expects demand for flexible outsourced paraplanning capacity to increase as advice practices seek to grow and scale their operations. He drew a distinction between offshore document production and TNT’s Australian-based positioning.

Keith Cullen, Managing Director

“For many years, parts of the paraplanning industry have been engaged in a race to the bottom on price, often accompanied by declining quality and increasing reliance on offshore document production. Emerging technologies are turning that model on its head and creating a race to the top — in quality, efficiency, responsiveness and turnaround times.”

TNT co-founder Tamara Morey said the firm’s approach to technology would remain centred on enhancing the capability of experienced paraplanners rather than replacing them, framing paraplanners as a “genuine second chair” to advisers.

“We don’t see technology replacing great paraplanners. We see it making great paraplanners even better,” Ms Morey said. She noted that automation and AI could remove repetitive document production, formatting and checking work, freeing experienced staff to apply higher-value technical skills.

Building the WTL ecosystem

The transaction represents an evolution of WTL’s strategy of building an ecosystem around privately owned advice practices, partnering with founder-led businesses while investing in shared capabilities. The Company has framed the arrangement as business as usual with greater resources.

The WTL Hubco strategy, which simultaneously manages three active platforms including Titan Advice Group, SAGA, and Life Sumo, follows a consistent pattern: acquire founder-led businesses, retain management, and compound equity value across the network.

TNT will retain its identity, management team, client relationships and commitment to premium onshore paraplanning. It will continue to serve practices across all licensee groups, large and small, and the self-licensed market.

According to the announcement, the partnership will provide TNT with:

  • Access to additional capital

  • Technology and workflow capability

  • Expansion of its experienced Australian paraplanner base

  • Broader market access to support scaling advice practices

The deal is underpinned by WTL’s existing scale. The Company describes itself as one of the largest financial adviser networks in Australia, delivering services primarily through around 400 privately-owned advice practices operating under its Wealth Today, Sentry Advice, Synchron Advice and Millennium3 subsidiaries.

What comes next

With completion expected shortly, the stated shared ambition is to build TNT into “Australia’s preeminent, genuinely world-class paraplanning service,” combining experienced people, technology and service quality, according to Mr Cullen.

Keith Cullen, Managing Director

“TNT is a very good example of our partnership philosophy in action and of the broader ecosystem of capabilities we intend to build around the advice practices we support.”

For investors, the transaction reads as a modest, strategically consistent and cash-funded acquisition. Rather than a transformative event, it deepens WTL’s service ecosystem and adds a scalable, recurring service line positioned to benefit as advice practices grow their operations.
