Vmoto establishes Vmoto RideTour and launches pilots with JD.com, Meituan and Taobao
Vmoto Limited (ASX: VMT) has established Nanjing Vmoto RideTour Intelligent Technology Co, Ltd (“Vmoto RideTour”) and launched pilot collaborations with JD.com, Meituan and Alibaba’s Taobao. The venture is intended to facilitate on-demand delivery fleet upgrades and improvements in China.
Vmoto holds a 70% interest in Vmoto RideTour, while its partner, Ling An Hang (Nanjing) Environmental Technology Co, Ltd, holds 30%. The announcement was dated 6 October 2026.
The pilots are intended to supply Vmoto’s electric moped products and provide operational support for fleets used in on-demand delivery operations within the ecosystems of JD.com, Meituan and Taobao. For investors, this describes a direct route to place Vmoto’s products with riders operating inside those platforms.
Charles Chen, Managing Director
“We are very pleased to launch pilot collaborations with China’s top digital commerce and instant retail giants… and to supply Vmoto’s products and solutions for use by riders in the large on-demand delivery markets.”

Nanjing’s approximately 100,000 riders and the non-compliant fleet problem
A large addressable pilot market
The pilots commence in Nanjing, where there are approximately 100,000 on-demand delivery riders. Vmoto describes this as a significant opportunity in China to supply its products to replace non-compliant fleets and vehicles with inadequate maintenance.
The announcement does not disclose sales volumes, revenue expectations or contract values for the pilot collaborations.
Why fleet upgrades matter
Vmoto states the on-demand delivery sector currently faces challenges including non-compliant vehicles, illegal modifications and inadequate maintenance. These create risks for riders and other road users.
On-demand delivery fleets are the vehicles used by riders to complete orders placed through delivery platforms. Through Vmoto RideTour, the company aims to provide compliant, reliable equipment backed by ongoing operational support, with the objective of helping riders move towards safer vehicles and improve the conditions in which they work.
How the pilot and service model work
The pilot programme is designed to integrate with riders’ daily routines to facilitate vehicle trials, operational training and service coordination. It aims to identify specific requirements regarding vehicle reliability, charging convenience and maintenance responsiveness across various delivery contexts.
User feedback will be relayed to Vmoto’s product and technical teams to drive continuous improvement.
Vmoto RideTour will establish service arrangements covering:
- Vehicle delivery
- Verification of registration and insurance
- Provision of batteries and dedicated chargers
- Routine inspections and maintenance
By linking equipment supply with ongoing operational support, Vmoto states Vmoto RideTour will help riders ensure proper usage and timely maintenance, and provide clear service assistance for vehicle issues. Pairing supply with support may also create closer ongoing relationships with fleet users, although the announcement does not state this.
| Pilot element | What it involves | Why it matters to investors |
|---|---|---|
| Rider integration | Vehicle trials, operational training and service coordination | Aims to identify requirements on reliability, charging convenience and maintenance responsiveness |

Sustainability built into the lifecycle
Vmoto states environmental sustainability will be integrated throughout the lifecycle of vehicle usage and fleet renewal. Vmoto RideTour plans to strengthen vehicle and battery inspection and maintenance, extending the equipment’s effective service life while ensuring safety.
It also plans to progressively refine protocols for decommissioning and recycling, thereby enhancing resource utilisation efficiency.
Expansion pathway beyond Nanjing
Building on the Nanjing pilot programme, Vmoto and Vmoto RideTour will progressively consolidate insights regarding vehicle upgrades, rider services and platform synergy. This process will lay the groundwork for expansion into other suitable cities across China.
It will also provide a reference for Vmoto’s future international operations, taking into account the specific needs of different countries and regions.
Mr Chen said Vmoto, with the support of the Nanjing government, also actively seeks to fulfil its environmental, social and governance responsibilities. He cited supporting cities in achieving more organised urban delivery operations, improving rider and EV safety management, and encouraging responsible riding, parking and charging.
These remain pilot collaborations. The announcement does not disclose timelines for expansion, financial terms or volume commitments.
