Radiopharm secures $8M advance against FY26 R&D tax incentive
Radiopharm Theranostics (ASX: RAD; Nasdaq: RADX) has received $8,000,000 from Rockford Capital under a funding facility secured against its anticipated FY26 Research and Development Tax Incentive (RDTI). The R&D tax incentive advance was announced on 26 October 2026.
The funds will support the clinical trial pipeline and otherwise be used for general working capital. The funding agreement gives the company early access to a portion of its anticipated FY26 RDTI, which may help keep its trials moving.
The announcement was authorised on behalf of the board by Executive Chairman Paul Hopper.

How the Rockford Capital facility works
The facility is structured as an advance against a government incentive. The key terms are:
- Amount received: $8,000,000 from Rockford Capital
- Security: the anticipated FY26 RDTI to be received from the Australian Taxation Office
- Interest: charged at a commercial rate
- Repayment: timed to follow the anticipated receipt of the FY26 RDTI, and due by 26 October 2027
- Early repayment: the facility can be repaid at any time without penalty prior to the due date
The no-penalty early repayment option gives the company flexibility in managing its balance sheet, as the facility can be repaid before the due date if it chooses.
Understanding the R&D tax incentive
The Australian Government RDTI program provides companies engaging in eligible activities with a refundable tax offset of up to 43.5%.
A refundable offset means eligible companies can receive cash back rather than only reducing a tax bill. For a clinical-stage biotech that is not yet generating profits, that distinction matters.
An advance against the RDTI brings forward a portion of that expected refund. Investors may view this as a way to access funding earlier, secured against the incentive rather than through a new share issue.
Radiopharm has already seen the incentive convert to cash once, with a FY2025 R&D tax refund of roughly $5.9 million received in July 2026 and directed at the same clinical pipeline.
| Term | Fact | Impact |
|---|---|---|
| Amount | **$8,000,000** | Supports the clinical trial pipeline and general working capital |
| Security | Anticipated FY26 RDTI | Secured against the incentive |
| Early repayment | No penalty prior to due date | Repayment flexibility |
