Building a broader European footprint for FebriDx®
Romania adds to an expanding European distribution network rather than marking a first-time entry into the region. Lumos already has agreements in place through Henry Schein across the UK, Spain, Portugal and the Netherlands, alongside Interlux for the Baltic region covering Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia (ASX announcement 18 December 2025).
These partnerships support the company’s strategy of expanding access to FebriDx® through experienced regional distribution partners across Europe.
| Partner | Region / Countries | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Henry Schein | UK, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands | Existing agreement across multiple geographies |
| Interlux | Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia (Baltic region) | Announced 18 December 2025 |
| Alpha Medical | Romania | Newly appointed, exclusive distribution agreement |
Each new partner incrementally widens the addressable market for FebriDx® across Europe and reinforces a repeatable expansion approach.
What FebriDx® is and why it matters
FebriDx® is a rapid, point-of-care diagnostic that aids in the differentiation between bacterial infection and non-bacterial etiology. In plain terms, the test helps healthcare professionals quickly distinguish likely bacterial from non-bacterial causes of infection, supporting faster and more informed treatment decisions at the point of care.
The FebriDx point-of-care market received a significant validation milestone when the FDA granted CLIA waiver status in March 2026, expanding the product’s US addressable market approximately 15-fold to over US$1 billion and opening access to around 300,000 healthcare locations previously outside its reach.
For investors, broader distribution of a product that aids in differentiating bacterial infection and non-bacterial etiology supports commercial growth across primary care, urgent care and hospital settings.
Management commentary
Doug Ward, Managing Director, Lumos Diagnostics
“We are pleased to further expand our European distribution network with Alpha Medical in Romania. Building on our existing relationships across the region, this partnership will help broaden access to FebriDx® and support our continued commercial growth across Europe.”
The investment takeaway
Successive European distribution agreements reflect a deliberate strategy to scale FebriDx® access through established regional partners. The initial stocking order placed by Alpha Medical serves as an early indicator of near-term product availability in the Romanian market.
The pattern of distributors moving quickly from agreement to order is consistent with what occurred in the US market, where a record FebriDx purchase order of US$1.3 million from PHASE Scientific arrived within five days of the March 2026 FDA clearance, signalling distributor readiness to convert commercial agreements into inventory demand.
While the announcement does not disclose deal value, order size or revenue contribution, the appointment reinforces continued commercial traction for Lumos. Each agreement adds incremental reach to the company’s European commercial footprint as it works to broaden access to its point-of-care diagnostic across the region.
