Managing Director Commentary
“The successful completion of our first direct shipment to China represents another important milestone in the continued expansion of our Indonesian seaweed trading operations. Successfully completing the transaction from procurement through export, international logistics and final delivery demonstrates the capability of our Indonesian trading platform to service customers directly in China. We believe direct exports to China will continue to provide opportunities to achieve higher realised selling prices and improved trading margins while supporting the continued growth of our international customer base.” said Matthew Leonard, Managing Director, BPH Global Ltd.
Why the GACC approval and China market access matter
The direct export followed approval issued by the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China (GACC).
That approval was granted under the Indonesia–China Mutual Recognition Arrangement, which permits direct shipments of seaweed from Indonesia into China. In commercial terms, direct sales to China are expected to improve realised selling prices and trading margins.
China ranks as one of the world’s largest seaweed markets, making compliant direct access commercially significant.

What the China channel means for BPH Global’s growth
The direct China channel is positioned to complement, not replace, the Company’s established domestic Indonesian sales channel. Together, these two channels provide dual-channel access, spanning domestic Indonesia and direct China exports, which the Company expects to enhance long-term growth opportunities for its Indonesian seaweed trading operations.
The period covering the initial export activity pushed aggregate gross sales past AUD 3.87 million since operations began in May 2025, with the 15 May to 30 June 2026 quarter alone contributing approximately AUD 535,895 as higher seaweed prices supported margins while moderating overall volumes.
The Company intends to expand its direct export activities into China and has stated it will provide further updates.
