Delorean banks third $1.66M ARENA milestone payment on flagship SA1 Salisbury project

Delorean Corporation (ASX: DEL) has received the third cash payment milestone of $1.66 million (GST exclusive) under its existing $7.74 million grant funding agreement with the Australian Government’s Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA).

The latest tranche lifts total grant payments received under the agreement to $5.46 million. The funding, provided under ARENA’s National Industrial Transformation Program, is accelerating development of the Company’s SA1 Salisbury bioenergy facility, currently under construction at Edinburgh Parks in South Australia.

What the milestone payment funds

The ARENA grant funds Delorean for the costs of procurement, installation, and commissioning of critical infrastructure upgrades. These upgrades enhance the facility’s ability to produce and upgrade biogas into mains-grade biomethane and biogenic CO₂.

The renewable gas will be supplied through the Adelaide gas network under a long-term offtake agreement.

Inside the SA1 Salisbury bioenergy plant

The SA1 Salisbury bioenergy plant is 100% Delorean Corporation owned and located in the Northern Adelaide Food Park at Edinburgh Parks (metropolitan Adelaide), on land owned by Delorean. The project is currently in construction.

SA1 construction progress reached the 75% completion mark in May 2026, with waste acceptance targeted for August 2026 and first biomethane injection into the Adelaide gas network scheduled for November 2026.

Bioenergy converts organic waste into renewable gas. For investors, this model offers dual exposure to two high-growth sectors: renewable energy and waste management.

SA1 Salisbury Plant Multi-Revenue Flow

Stage 1 operational specifications include:

  • Processes 70,000 tonnes per annum of organic waste streams.

  • Produces up to 210 TJ per annum of renewable natural gas (biomethane).

  • Exported to Adelaide’s gas network under an offtake agreement with Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG).

  • Stage 2 (potential future expansion) offers potential for extension to 125,000 tonnes per annum under the current development approval.

Six revenue streams from one facility

A distinguishing feature of the project is its multi-revenue model. The SA1 project is designed to produce six different products and revenue streams:

  1. Renewable Natural Gas (Biogenic Methane)

  2. Renewable food grade liquid CO₂ (Biogenic LCO₂)

  3. Carbon Credits (ACCUs)

  4. Renewable Gas Guarantees of Origin (RGGOs)

  5. Liquid Fertilisers

  6. Gate Fees

According to the Company, the flagship project continues to advance, bringing Delorean closer to first renewable gas production and the delivery of long-term environmental and economic benefits to South Australian industry.

Delorean describes itself as a vertically integrated bioenergy company, comprising an Engineering Division, Infrastructure Division and Energy Retail Division. Through these divisions, the Company states it has the in-house capability to deliver bioenergy projects across the full lifecycle, from conception to completion.

Delorean Corporation Board

The milestone confirmation was authorised on behalf of the Delorean Corporation Board of Directors by Hamish Jolly, Executive Chair.

What comes next

SA1 Salisbury remains currently under construction and is advancing toward first renewable gas production. With $5.46 million received to date under the $7.74 million ARENA agreement, the project continues to progress toward remaining milestones.

Delorean’s national pipeline extends beyond SA1, with the Horsley Park bioenergy facility in New South Wales reaching Final Investment Decision in April 2026 at a total project cost of $62.1 million, backed by $30.5 million in government grants and a binding 25-year offtake agreement with Brickworks.
