FirstWave extends Telstra agreement servicing Federal Government agencies

FirstWave Cloud Technology Limited (ASX: FCT) has extended its agreement, delivered via Telstra (ASX: TLS), to license its Secure Internet Gateway (SIG) to Commonwealth Government agencies. The extension runs for a further 12 months, commencing July 2026.

The platform delivers ISM-compliant email security to several Federal Government agencies through FirstWave’s CyberCision platform.

Under the extended agreement, the number of Federal Government users grows by approximately 5%, lifting total annual recurring revenue (ARR) for these agencies to approximately A$0.6 million, an increase of around 5%.

Inside the Telstra partnership and the CyberCision platform

The platform meets the security standards set by the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) and is offered as part of FirstWave’s CyberCision platform. The SIG Agreement forms part of an ongoing relationship with Telstra that operates across two components:

  • A CyberCision platform provided within Telstra.

  • A Telstra-branded CyberCision instance running on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure, which enables Telstra to resell FirstWave products under its own brand.

This dual structure allows Telstra to service its own government customers while also reselling FirstWave products under Telstra branding.

Why ISM-compliant email security matters for investors

The Information Security Manual (ISM) is the Australian Government’s cybersecurity standard framework, maintained by the ACSC. It sets the security requirements that technology providers must meet to service government systems.

Extension adds to a strong Q4 FY26 for FirstWave

The extension adds to momentum in FirstWave’s AI-powered compliance strategy during Q4 FY26. It follows recent contract wins with Services Australia of A$1.85 million and Banobras of approximately A$350,000 (refer ASX announcements 22 April and 14 May 2026).

The Services Australia licence deal, announced in May 2026, added a $1.331 million perpetual software licence and a $0.378 million recurring annual support arrangement, with the full payment due within 30 days of signing.

These are separate, previously announced contracts. The approximately A$0.6 million Telstra ARR is a distinct figure and should not be combined with the Services Australia or Banobras values.

“This extension reflects the continued trust Federal Government agencies place in FirstWave’s ISM-compliant email security, and the strength of our long-standing partnership with Telstra in bringing that platform to market. It comes during a period of strong momentum for the business with revenue growth and a materially lower cost base. We remain focused on converting further high-margin recurring revenue and we look forward to updating the market on our progress.”
