Proteomics International secures national Healius distribution deal for Promarker® portfolio

Proteomics International (ASX: PIQ) has executed a national distribution agreement with Healius Limited (ASX: HLS), appointing Healius as the exclusive Australian pathology distribution partner for its Promarker® portfolio of predictive and diagnostic blood tests.

The deal marks the Company’s first national commercial distribution partnership for the Promarker® portfolio. It carries an initial term of three years, with an option to extend for a further three years by mutual agreement.

Implementation activities begin immediately, with a phased commercial rollout planned during FY27.

Inside the agreement — who does what

The agreement divides responsibilities along each party’s area of expertise. Proteomics International retains full control of the science and quality, while Healius provides the national reach.

Under the terms, Proteomics International retains responsibility for:

  • All laboratory testing through its accredited laboratory infrastructure

  • Clinical reporting, scientific and medical support

  • Quality and regulatory compliance

Healius will be responsible for:

  • Access to more than 2,000 patient collection centres

  • Specimen collection and pathology distribution

  • Referrer engagement and market access activities

  • Established relationships with general practitioners, specialists, hospitals and other healthcare providers

Deal Feature Detail

As the Promarker® portfolio is at an early stage of commercialisation, the Company noted that the revenue that may be generated under the agreement cannot be reliably estimated at this time. The commercial terms of the agreement are confidential.

Why the capital-efficient model matters for investors

The partnership establishes what the Company describes as its preferred Australian commercialisation model for the Promarker® portfolio. It provides national market access without requiring Proteomics International to establish its own national specimen collection network.

According to the Company, this approach supports capital-efficient market access. By leveraging Healius’ existing infrastructure and referrer relationships, the model is positioned as scalable and supportive of the phased rollout.

The Healius agreement is the direct execution of a distributor-led commercialisation roadmap that Proteomics International outlined in April 2026, which targets combined Australian and US serviceable markets of over one million annual tests across its four-test portfolio through FY29.

David Morris, CEO & Managing Director

“By combining Proteomics International’s accredited laboratory capability with Healius’ pathology distribution infrastructure, we have established a scalable pathway to support the phased rollout of the Promarker® portfolio across Australia.”

Healius Group Executive Customer and Commercial, Anthea Muir, added that the Promarker® portfolio “complements Healius’ pathology offering by expanding the range of predictive and diagnostic testing available to Australian clinicians.”

Understanding the Promarker® portfolio

The Promarker® portfolio consists of predictive and diagnostic blood tests built on proteomics, the study of the structure and function of proteins. Blood-based testing aims to support earlier detection of disease, which can assist clinicians in intervening sooner and tailoring patient management.

For investors, a broader distribution network increases the potential addressable patient base across three distinct disease areas:

  1. Promarker®D — a predictive blood test designed to identify people with type 2 diabetes who are at increased risk of developing chronic kidney disease before conventional clinical indicators become apparent.

  2. Promarker®Eso — a blood test designed to assist in identifying patients with chronic gastro-oesophageal reflux disease and Barrett’s oesophagus who may be at increased risk of developing oesophageal cancer.

  3. Promarker®Endo — a diagnostic blood test designed to assist clinicians in the diagnosis of endometriosis and support earlier identification of the condition.

The Promarker® Portfolio Clinical Targets

The portfolio remains at an early stage of commercialisation. Commercial outcomes will depend on factors including implementation timing, clinician adoption, patient utilisation and reimbursement pathways.

What happens next

Both parties will immediately commence implementation activities ahead of the phased commercial launch. These activities include:

  • Operational integration

  • Information technology integration

  • Laboratory workflow implementation

  • Clinician education and engagement

  • Market access planning and commercial launch preparation

Implementation will occur in a phased manner, with commercial rollout expected to commence progressively during FY27 following completion of these activities.

Proteomics International will host an investor webinar on Thursday, 23 July 2026 at 11:00am AEST / 9:00am AWST, where CEO and Managing Director David Morris will discuss the agreement in more detail, followed by an interactive Q&A session.
