Noodlecake adds Space Warlord Baby Trading Simulator to mobile pipeline
Streamplay Studio Limited (ASX: SP8), through its wholly owned subsidiary Noodlecake Studios, has entered into a mobile publishing agreement with independent developer Strange Scaffold to port and publish Space Warlord Baby Trading Simulator on iOS and Android.
The title is a fast-paced arcade strategy game built around a fictional intergalactic securities market. Players buy, sell and short shares linked to the procedurally generated future lives of fictional alien babies, responding to changing information and simulated life events as market values shift throughout each trading session.
Space Warlord Baby Trading Simulator first launched on Steam in January 2026 before expanding to Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. The Steam version currently holds a “Very Positive” user rating, with approximately 91% of more than 500 user reviews recorded as positive. The announcement notes this is an existing player-reception metric only and is not predictive of mobile sales or future financial performance.
The mobile release is targeted for Q1 2027, subject to porting, certification, and final storefront scheduling.

Strange Scaffold and the developer behind the game
Strange Scaffold is an independent game development studio founded and led by Xalavier Nelson Jr. His industry credentials include:
- Forbes 30 Under 30 Games (2024)
- IGDA Foundation Gerald Lawson Award for Achievement in Game Development (2024)
- BAFTA 2025 US Breakthrough cohort
- Director credits on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown; additional writing on Borderlands 4; Strange Scaffold originals I Am Your Beast and El Paso, Elsewhere
Space Warlord Baby Trading Simulator also sits within the same fictional universe as the studio’s earlier Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator, signalling an established creative universe with existing audience awareness.
Ryan Holowaty, CEO of Noodlecake
“Xalavier and the Strange Scaffold team make games with an identity that is immediately their own, and Space Warlord Baby Trading Simulator is a great example of that. It takes something as familiar as buying, selling and shorting a market and turns it into something completely unexpected. The game has already launched across PC and console, and we’re excited to work with the team to adapt that experience for mobile.”
How Noodlecake’s publishing model works — and what it means for investors
Under the agreement, Noodlecake takes on the technical port, mobile optimisation, storefront submissions, publishing, and post-launch support. Strange Scaffold, as the developer, contributes the creative IP.
The commercial terms follow Noodlecake’s standardised publishing framework, structured in two phases:
- Pre-recoup: Noodlecake retains 80–100% of revenue until its investment and associated costs are fully recovered.
- Post-recoup: Revenue reverts to the underlying commercial split, generally a 20–40% revenue-share to Noodlecake, depending on development requirements, financing, and technical involvement.
| Phase | Revenue Allocation | Trigger | Reported Via |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pre-recoup | 80–100% to Noodlecake | Until investment + costs recovered | Quarterly updates |
| Post-recoup | 20–40% to Noodlecake | After full recoup | Quarterly updates |
This standardised structure reduces deal friction and creates consistency across projects. For investors, it means each new title entering the pipeline follows the same risk-managed framework, with Noodlecake’s initial outlay protected before revenue is shared with the developer.
The recoupment-first publishing model applied to Space Warlord Baby Trading Simulator is the same framework under which Winter Burrow generated A$5.7 million in cumulative gross revenue across Steam, Xbox and Nintendo Switch before its own mobile launch, providing investors with a prior data point on how the structure performs across the recoup and post-recoup phases.
The announcement notes that revenue outcomes are dependent on factors including platform performance, release timing, and post-launch support, and will be reported in future quarterly updates as applicable.
Building momentum — Flick Shot Rogues launch sets the context
The Space Warlord Baby Trading Simulator agreement follows the mobile launch of Flick Shot Rogues on 16 September 2026 across iOS and Android, ported from its original Steam release. At launch, Flick Shot Rogues achieved a number of visibility placements:
The Flick Shot Rogues mobile launch on 16 September 2026 extended an existing relationship between Noodlecake and developer Butter By The Fish, which had also signed a separate publishing agreement for Monkey Brain, a physics-based roguelike targeting a PC release before the end of CY2026.
- Apple App Store Today feature at launch
- Number one position within Newly Launched Games in the United States and selected other territories
- Featured across multiple Google Play placements, including the number one new-game position across mobile and Google Play Games for PC
The announcement notes these are operational visibility indicators only and are not presented as indicators of sales conversion or future revenue.
Space Warlord Baby Trading Simulator now represents the next title entering Noodlecake’s mobile publishing pipeline, reinforcing the studio’s strategy of bringing established PC and console titles to mobile audiences.
