Streamplay’s Winter Burrow crosses A$5.7 million as mobile launch looms
Winter Burrow, the woodland survival title published by Streamplay Studio’s (ASX: SP8) wholly owned subsidiary Noodlecake Studios, has surpassed approximately A$5.7 million in cumulative gross revenue since its November 2025 launch.
The milestone spans Steam, Xbox and Nintendo Switch, supported by more than 700,000 cumulative downloads, purchases and player activations. Streamplay now plans to extend the title onto mobile, with Apple App Store and Google Play releases targeted for 30 September 2026.
The update pairs proven commercial traction on PC and console with a planned move into the global mobile gaming market, positioning Winter Burrow for a materially broader audience.

The numbers behind Winter Burrow’s momentum
Winter Burrow generated approximately A$3 million in gross revenue within just 20 days of its global launch (ASX: 2 December 2025). The title has since added roughly A$2.7 million in further revenue, bringing cumulative gross revenue to around A$5.7 million to date.
Player uptake has been equally notable. The 700,000+ figure covers downloads, purchases and activations across supported storefronts, including approximately 475,000 Xbox Game Pass activations.
| Metric | Figure | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| Revenue in first 20 days | ~A$3M | Global launch (November 2025) |
| Additional revenue since | ~A$2.7M | Post-launch momentum |
| Cumulative gross revenue | ~A$5.7M | To date |
| Total downloads/activations | 700,000+ | Incl. ~475,000 Xbox Game Pass activations |
Steam Daily Deal delivers a visibility spike
The title recently participated in Steam’s Daily Deal promotion, a platform-curated campaign that features selected titles prominently across Steam discovery channels. The campaign produced a marked short-term uplift across several measures:
-
Approximately US$93,000 (~A$143,000) in gross Steam revenue during the first week
-
Roughly 8,000 units sold
-
An approximate 894% increase in average daily revenue relative to the preceding comparable period
-
Steam wishlists now exceeding 520,000
-
Contribution to increased sales activity across Xbox and Nintendo Switch storefronts
Streamplay noted that promotional campaign performance may not be indicative of ongoing sales activity. Even so, recent promotions have contributed to increased storefront visibility, player engagement and sales across supported platforms during the period.
Winter Burrow heads to mobile
Winter Burrow will soon be available for pre-orders across the Apple App Store and Google Play ahead of its planned mobile release, targeted for 30 September 2026. The expansion extends the title beyond its existing Steam, Xbox and Nintendo Switch audience.
According to Streamplay, the game has been redesigned and optimised for touchscreen gameplay while preserving the exploration, crafting and survival systems that helped establish it across PC and console storefronts.
The release forms part of Noodlecake’s broader strategy of extending selected indie titles across multiple storefronts and device ecosystems, including mobile, PC, console and cloud gaming platforms. Additional PC and console platform releases are also being evaluated.
Ryan Holowaty, CEO of Noodlecake
“Winter Burrow has continued attracting players well beyond its original launch period, and the recent Steam promotion demonstrated the title’s ongoing visibility across major storefronts. Bringing the game onto mobile is an exciting next step for the team and creates an opportunity to introduce Winter Burrow to a significantly broader audience while continuing to support the existing PC and console community.”
Why the mobile market matters for investors
Mobile is the single largest segment of the global gaming industry. According to the Newzoo Global Games Market Report 2025, mobile represents approximately 55% of the estimated A$158 billion global gaming industry revenue opportunity.
For a title already validated on PC and console, a mobile release opens access to a far larger addressable audience and additional long-tail revenue channels. In simple terms, the base of potential players expands well beyond the existing storefront community.
Noodlecake’s multi-storefront approach is designed to monetise a single proven title repeatedly across new device ecosystems. Extending an established game across platforms can carry lower execution risk than building an entirely new intellectual property, since the underlying title has already demonstrated commercial demand.
The investment case: a proven title, a bigger stage
Streamplay owns Noodlecake, an established North America-based publisher with over 60 published titles and more than 270 million downloads worldwide. Winter Burrow is one of its more recent commercial successes.
The title carries a ‘Very Positive’ (9/10) user review rating on Steam and a 4.2/5 average user rating on Xbox. That reception, combined with the revenue trajectory to date, frames a title that has been commercially validated and is now being pushed into the largest gaming segment.
The repeatable lever for investors sits in the model itself. By extending proven titles across mobile, PC, console and cloud gaming ecosystems, Noodlecake aims to generate incremental revenue from existing IP rather than relying solely on new releases.
Noodlecake’s publishing pipeline extends beyond Winter Burrow, with the studio having recently secured a worldwide multi-platform deal for anime action title Tiebreakers, targeting mobile, PC and console platforms ahead of a Q4 2027 release.
