Fluence Corporation Ltd Secures US$3.7M Vietnam Desalination Contracts
Fluence secures US$3.7M seawater desalination contracts in Vietnam
Fluence Corporation (ASX: FLC) has won two contracts to supply seawater desalination plants in Vietnam, carrying an aggregate value of approximately US$3.7 million. The contracts were secured in partnership with SWater Kankyo Corporation (“Swater”), described by the company as a well-known contractor and strategic business partner in the region.
The two water treatment plants are earmarked for Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam, and are expected to be installed and fully operational before the end of 2026. The systems address a growing regional challenge, providing a secure, decentralised supply of water amid increasing water scarcity across the country.
The wins reinforce Fluence’s momentum in the high-growth Southeast Asia market and highlight the recurring nature of its partnership model with established regional contractors.

Inside the Phu Quoc desalination project
The contracts cover the design and equipment supply of two water treatment plants for what Fluence describes as a prominent Vietnamese infrastructure investor. A short delivery timeline sits at the centre of the commercial proposition, with the company pointing to its ability to meet compressed schedules for customers.
The plants will treat seawater sourced from an offshore intake, drawing on two core technologies:
-
Multi-media filtration (MMF)
-
Reverse osmosis (RO)
Upon completion, the facilities are expected to produce up to 7,500 m³ of high-quality potable water per day. The systems are designed to maximise water recovery and sustainability, achieving greater than 45% recovery of feedwater.

A deepening partnership in Southeast Asia
These represent Fluence’s 4th and 5th contracts with Swater in just over the last year, signalling a strengthening, repeat-business relationship rather than a one-off engagement. The continuation of this partnership underscores the company’s active presence across the region.
Fluence describes itself as very active in Southeast Asia and uniquely positioned to help customers rapidly deploy decentralized treatment systems that improve resilience, reduce environmental impact and protect critical infrastructure operations.
Ben Fash, CEO and Managing Director, Fluence
“These are our 4th and 5th contracts with Swater in just over the last year, showcasing a growing partnership that is helping to solve a critical need in the region.”
Why decentralised desalination matters
According to Fluence, developers and infrastructure investors in coastal regions of Vietnam are keenly aware that the scarcity of drinking water is a critical issue. Decentralised systems offer a way to secure local supply during periods of tight availability.
For investors, the significance can be summarised as follows:
-
Decentralised treatment provides local, resilient water supply for infrastructure projects
-
Coastal Vietnam faces rising water scarcity, driving demand for secure sources
-
Recurring project wins with an established partner support Fluence’s Southeast Asia growth strategy

What this means for Fluence investors
The contracts align with Fluence’s stated focus on high-growth markets, namely North America and Southeast Asia, delivered through its pre-engineered Smart Products Solutions (SPS) model. The company’s ability to meet short delivery timelines is positioned as a commercial advantage in securing this type of work.
With target completion set before the end of 2026, the contracts point toward near-term revenue conversion. Ben Fash noted the systems demonstrate how advanced water treatment technology can help customers secure the water needed for their operations while supporting broader water conservation goals.
Repeat wins with an established partner in a scarcity-driven market reinforce Fluence’s execution capability and its regional footprint. The company has stated the project demonstrates its ability to provide advanced water treatment solutions to many customers facing similar challenges across Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
The Fluence Texas water contract, also valued at USD $3.7 million and targeting completion by end of 2026, demonstrates the same short-delivery, pre-engineered model being applied across two distinct geographies simultaneously, with the Texas facility engineered for greater than 90% feedwater recovery from a groundwater source.
