ReadyTech named platform provider for Victoria’s TAFE Network
ReadyTech Holdings Limited (ASX:RDY) has been selected as the Student Management System (SMS) platform provider for the Victorian TAFE Network following a competitive tender process, the company confirmed on 29 June 2026.
The selection positions ReadyTech as a long-term technology partner to one of Australia’s largest vocational education systems, which delivers training to over 170,000 TAFE students annually. The contract has been entered into for an initial term of 5 years.
Importantly, no revenue has been contracted as part of this announcement. There are no committed contract values and no mandated rollout timelines at this stage. The development is best framed as a strategic positioning win rather than a revenue event.

What the selection actually covers
The selection was made by the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions and is intended to provide a ‘common platform’ of Student Management capability across the Victorian network of 11 TAFE Institutes.
A key nuance for investors: implementation will be considered and progressed through further negotiations with the individual TAFE Institutes. This is a platform selection, not a signed network-wide rollout.
The core terms of the arrangement can be summarised as follows:
-
Initial term: 5 years
-
Committed contract value: none at this stage
-
Rollout timeline: not yet mandated, subject to scoping, approvals and customer requirements
-
Scope: common SMS platform for 11 TAFE Institutes
Building on an existing Victorian TAFE foundation
The selection represents an expansion of ReadyTech’s longstanding engagement with Victoria’s TAFE sector, not a first-time entry. The company already partners with three Victorian TAFEs: Bendigo Kangan Institute, Chisholm Institute and Melbourne Polytechnic.
This milestone follows a multi-year, co-designed partnership with the three existing customer TAFEs, established after a landmark platform selection several years ago. Through close collaboration, the parties have designed and evolved a student management platform purpose-built for modern TAFE delivery.
The platform has also been shaped to support the increasing convergence of vocational education and higher education, recognising that many Victorian TAFE institutes now deliver higher education programmes alongside traditional VET offerings.
Marc Washbourne, CEO and Co-Founder of ReadyTech
“This selection validates our long-term investment in an enterprise-grade education platform capable of supporting system-level transformation. What began as a co-designed partnership with Bendigo Kangan Institute has evolved into a platform now recognised as fit to support the future of the Victorian TAFE Network, and we are proud to be trusted as a long-term technology partner in this important work.”
Why a Student Management System matters
A Student Management System supports the student journey across an education provider and enables digital transformation.
The ‘common platform’ concept refers to a shared system deployed across many institutes, which can drive consistency, efficiency and a scalable approach to digital transformation. A single interoperable system reduces fragmentation across a network.
This direction aligns with the Independent Review of the Victorian Public Service (June 2025), which highlighted the role of modern, interoperable platforms in improving service quality, sustainability and efficiency, including the potential for shared student platforms to enhance consistency and learner outcomes.
For investors, the significance lies in the nature of the software. An SMS is mission-critical SaaS, which is why a platform selection carries strategic value even before any revenue is contracted.
What it means for the investment case
The selection entrenches ReadyTech as a preferred long-term partner across a major government education network. The upside sits in future optionality across 11 institutes, contingent on individual negotiations converting into signed implementations.
ReadyTech describes itself as a leading provider of mission-critical SaaS across the education, employment services, workforce management, government and justice sectors. The recurring nature of such software supports a long relationship horizon once institutes implement.
The Victorian TAFE selection arrives weeks after ReadyTech’s board formally rejected a takeover bid from Total Specific Solutions, citing the $2.00-per-share proposal as inadequate and not reflective of the company’s inherent value in a change of control context.
| Factor | Detail | Investor Significance |
|---|---|---|
| Selection | SMS platform provider for Victorian TAFE Network | Preferred long-term partner status |
| Scale | 11 TAFE Institutes, 170,000+ students annually | Large addressable footprint |
| Term | 5-year initial term | Long-term relationship horizon |
| Revenue | None contracted yet | Upside contingent on future negotiations |
What comes next
Implementation is to be progressed through individual negotiations with each TAFE Institute, with further scoping, approvals and customer requirements still required before any rollout proceeds.
The Company has stated it will provide further updates to the market as and when material commercial arrangements are finalised.
Marc Washbourne, CEO and Co-Founder of ReadyTech
“I would like to commend the Victoria Government for its clear, future-focused leadership in advancing a transformative agenda for the Victorian TAFE Network. Vocational education is critical to Victoria’s economy and workforce capability, and delivering change at this scale requires strong coordination and shared direction.”
