Codeifai develops ConnectQR app for ChatGPT and Claude
Codeifai Limited (ASX: CDE) has developed ConnectQR as an app that will integrate inside ChatGPT and Claude, and will be listed in the ChatGPT Plugin Directory and the Claude Connectors Directory. The announcement does not state that the app is live in either directory.
Users of either assistant will be able to create, style, manage and track QR codes in plain language without leaving the conversation. ConnectQR had 8,541 user accounts as at 8 October 2026, an increase of more than 750% since the company last reported the figure.
The company says the integration will place ConnectQR inside the assistant at the moment a user decides they need a QR code, rather than relying on that user to find a QR code service through a traditional internet search.

How ConnectQR works inside AI assistants
A dynamic QR code is one whose destination can be changed after it has been printed. Scan tracking records how often a code is scanned and where, which lets a business see how a printed code is performing.
Getting started with no account
No account is needed to start. A user tells the assistant what the code should hold, such as a website, wifi network, business card, phone number or a social media profile such as Instagram.
The app then renders the code immediately, with pattern, corner and colour controls inside the chat. Saving the code prompts a sign-in to ConnectQR, and a new account can be created in the same step.
What a ConnectQR account unlocks
With a ConnectQR account, the assistant can also:
- Create dynamic QR codes, each with a short URL and scan tracking.
- Find, rename, pause and restyle existing codes.
- Report scan analytics over time and by country, city, operating system, browser and content type, as charts and maps.
- List the most recent scans of any code and where they took place.
Because analytics will be returned to the assistant as data, as well as for example a map or a chart, it will be able to answer follow-up questions such as “which code performed best in Singapore?” and explain what the numbers mean.
These features require a ConnectQR account, so use of the app can bring new users onto the platform.
Market reach and the MCP advantage
The app is built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), a common standard that both ChatGPT and Claude use to connect to outside apps. MCP is overseen by an independent foundation backed by OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Microsoft and Amazon Web Services.
According to the company, this means Codeifai builds and maintains one integration that works across both assistants. It will be able to extend to other assistants that adopt the standard, rather than requiring a separate version for each.
| Platform | Figure | Source | Date |
|---|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT | 1.2 billion people reached each week | OpenAI | 5 October 2026 |
| Claude | More than 300,000 business customers | Anthropic | 2 September 2025 |
These are OpenAI and Anthropic figures for their own platforms and are not a measure of Codeifai’s addressable market.
The company also states that it is observable that search is moving away from historical “Googling” toward AI-based “Chat”, and that Codeifai, having identified this, has developed a pathway into it. This is the company’s own observation. Codeifai is only a developer whose app is listed in the directories, and it is not affiliated with OpenAI, Anthropic or Canva.
Growing the free user base toward conversion
ConnectQR had 8,541 user accounts as at 8 October 2026, compared with close to 1,000 when the company last reported the figure in its 28 October 2024 announcement. That earlier announcement referred to these accounts as subscribers, whereas the company now uses the term user accounts.
The announcement does not describe these accounts as paying customers, and revenue figures are not disclosed.
ConnectQR is built as a free onramp, with each new touch point adding to the top of the funnel without requiring a separate product. The web dashboard, the Canva app and now ChatGPT and Claude all create accounts on the same platform.
The Canva app, which went live on the Canva Apps Marketplace on 1 September 2026, is free to install on any Canva plan and uses dynamic code management and analytics as the pathway into paid ConnectQR tiers.
Conversion focus
With the base now at this scale, the company’s focus is moving to conversion. Its development work includes:
- Targeted email campaigns to free users who have used their free code allowance
- Improved tracking of sign-ups and post sign-up activity
- A simpler email verification step to reduce drop-off during sign-up
Accounts and pricing
The ChatGPT and Claude apps run on the same ConnectQR platform as the company’s Canva app and web dashboard. Codes created in chat conversations appear in the user’s account alongside all other codes.
Accounts created through either assistant join ConnectQR’s existing self-service plans, on the same tiers and pricing as accounts created on the web.
The announcement does not quantify conversion from free to paid accounts, and it provides no timelines, pricing changes or revenue figures.
