Boresight Ltd Launches BQ-750 Block 2 Drone With First Orders Delivered
Boresight launches BQ-750 Block 2 target-drone with longer flight time and payload capability
Boresight Ltd (ASX: BST) has released to market its newest aerial target-drone, the BQ-750 Block 2, a larger and more capable step up from the company’s smaller BQ-400 model. Notably, the company confirmed that first orders have been successfully delivered, with further orders being received.
The new airframe offers 35 minutes plus flight time, 2.5 km plus range and payload carrying capability. It is swarmable and integrates with Boresight’s existing proprietary Ground Control System.
For investors, a new product backed by delivered orders and continued demand signals both revenue diversification and demonstrated market traction. The release also expands Boresight’s product range and increases the scale of its manufacturing capabilities.

What the BQ-750 Block 2 brings to Boresight’s fleet
The Block 2 model builds on the earlier Block 1, delivering increased speed, endurance and payload alongside improved flight characteristics. Its defining upgrade is payload capacity, allowing operators to simulate more complex threat scenarios during training.
According to the company, the airframe can carry equipment to emulate a range of real-world threats. Supported applications include:
-
Dropper mechanism
-
Electronic warfare package
-
Shot detection units
A central design feature is seamless integration with Boresight’s proprietary Ground Control System, the same system used by the BQ-400. This enables fast implementation into existing training protocols and allows swarming with a mixture of BQ-400 and BQ-750 drones under one control system.
| Feature | BQ-750 Block 2 | Investor Relevance |
|---|---|---|
| Flight time | 35 minutes plus | Longer endurance supports extended training scenarios |
| Range | 2.5 km plus | Wider operating envelope broadens use cases |
| Payload capacity | Dropper / EW / shot detection | Enables complex threat emulation and premium positioning |
| Swarming | Compatible with BQ-400 | Mixed-fleet operation increases utility of existing ecosystem |
| Manufacturing | 3D printing + in-house flight control hardware | Cost-effective, scalable production capability |
How aerial target-drones support counter-UAS readiness
An aerial target-drone is an attritable, or “expendable”, drone used to replicate real-world drone threats during training and testing. Because these units are designed to be low-cost and repeatable, they allow defence and industry customers to rehearse against realistic threats without risking high-value ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) assets.
This capability underpins Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) training, which focuses on detecting, tracking and countering hostile drones. As drone threats evolve, threat emulation has become a growing defence priority, driving demand for products that can reliably mimic those threats.
Boresight’s ecosystem combines attritable target-drones, mission planning software and scalable ground control systems. This integrated model supports repeatable, cost-effective training demand, positioning the company within a structurally growing defence-readiness market with a scalable product foundation.

A proven track record and a clear product roadmap
The BQ-750 Block 2 builds on Boresight’s established design and manufacturing experience. The company’s smaller BQ-400 target-drone has sold over 5,000 units worldwide, and that manufacturing base, using proven 3D printing technology and in-house developed flight control hardware, has been leveraged to develop the larger BQ-750.
The strategic thread is the creation of an ecosystem: multiple drone models operating under a single Ground Control System. Management describes this as enabling repeatable, cost-effective counter drone training across a mixed fleet.
Near-term, the company confirmed that first Block 2 orders will be delivered this month. The drone will also be flown internationally in support of a major International C-UAS activity later this year.
Justin Olde, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer
“We understand the aerial-target drone market will evolve and we have to respond to it. The BQ-750 Block 2 is a clear example of our ability to interpret that evolving market and develop a product that meets client demands. By creating a target-drone with increased flight time, increased range and useful payload capacity, the BQ-750 will help customers continue to develop their training scenarios to reflect the real-world threats they are facing. Another intentional design feature is that the BQ-750 integrates with the same Ground Control Station as Boresight’s highly successful BQ-400 aerial target drone. This makes it very easy for customers to use as they can add the drone to their training rotation and secondly, allowing for swarming with a mixture of BQ-400 and BQ-750 aerial target-drones. One system with multiple drones of various models means more effective and efficient training for customers. We are creating an ecosystem that allows for easily, repeatable, cost-effective counter drone training.”
What’s next for Boresight
Product development continues, with the engineering team working on the next major release, the fixed-wing BF-100. According to the company, delivery of the BF-100 will be available for customers in Q4 2026.
Near-term catalysts include:
-
First BQ-750 Block 2 orders delivered this month
-
International C-UAS activity deployment later this year
-
BF-100 fixed-wing release in Q4 2026
A visible product pipeline, supported by delivered orders and a defined next release, underpins a continuous-development thesis for investors monitoring Boresight’s expanding product ecosystem.
