Understanding a bookbuild and bond margins
A bookbuild is the process of collecting investor bids to gauge demand and help set final pricing. Issuers use the orders received to judge how much interest exists at different price levels.
An indicative margin is the spread above a benchmark rate that sets the bond’s interest rate. A tighter margin alongside a large orderbook generally reflects solid investor appetite for the issuer’s debt.
What happens next for Auckland Airport’s Retail Bonds
Bids for the Retail Bonds are due by 10:30am on Friday, 6 November 2026, submitted by investors through the Joint Lead Managers. This closes the bookbuild process.
The Joint Lead Managers for the Retail Offer are:
- ANZ Bank New Zealand Limited
- Bank of New Zealand
- Forsyth Barr Capital Markets Limited
Chief Financial Officer Stewart Reynolds is the investor contact for the offer.
