Nasodine Nasal Spray approved in the Philippines
Firebrick Pharma (ASX: FRE) has announced that Nasodine Nasal Spray has been approved for marketing in the Philippines, with the approval confirmed by a Certificate of Product Registration (CPR) from the Philippines Food and Drug Administration (PFDA).
SV More Corporation (SV More), the company’s Philippines licensing partner, advised that it had received formal notification of the PFDA approval. A copy of the CPR has been provided to Firebrick.
The CPR states that Nasodine Nasal Spray conformed with the requirements and standards for marketing authorisation of pharmaceutical products. It has been approved as an antiseptic within the Over-the-Counter (OTC) Drug class.
For investors, the approval clears a regulatory step in a new market. The announcement does not disclose financial terms or revenue forecasts.
Dr Peter Molloy, Executive Chairman
“This is a long-awaited and incredibly important milestone for Firebrick and our licensing partner and strategic investor, SV More…”

What the approval covers
Approved label and uses
The approved packaging describes the product as “nasal antiseptic designed to help reduce bacteria, viruses and fungi in the nose.”
The uses stated on the approved label are:
- When you have a nasal infection
- After exposure to likely sources of respiratory infections, especially in crowded settings
- When you have cold or flu-like symptoms, to help reduce the spread of infection to family, friends and coworkers, especially in crowded places
Approval conditions
The approval is subject to SV More meeting standard post-approval documentary requirements. The initial approval is valid until 24 September 2028, and is thereafter subject to revalidation based on post-approval compliance with the requirements of the CPR.
The approval is therefore time-limited rather than permanent.
Philippines patent protection running until 2040 covers intranasal and throat PVP-I preparations, giving the market an intellectual property layer alongside the new regulatory approval.
Understanding OTC antiseptic approval
Over-the-Counter (OTC) products are sold without a prescription.
Dr Molloy said the approval is “…our first approval of Nasodine within the OTC Drug category, which could be very useful in other jurisdictions…”
Philippines market opportunity and launch timeline
The Philippines is described in the announcement as a “sophisticated pharmaceutical market” with a population of approx. 116 million people, making it the second largest market in Southeast Asia.
Dr Molloy said Firebrick will be “working closely with SV More over the next few months to prepare for the product launch, which could occur as early as Q1 CY2027…” No firm launch date has been given.
The Philippines brings the total number of countries where Nasodine Nasal Spray can be sold to five.
