Auckland Airport bond offer draws NZ$365 million firm orderbook
The Auckland International Airport Limited (Auckland Airport) bond offer has attracted a firm orderbook in excess of NZ$365,000,000 (excluding Joint Lead Manager trading interest) at the launch indicative margin. The Retail Offer is for up to NZ$100,000,000.
The Retail Offer covers five-year fixed rate bonds for institutional investors and New Zealand retail investors, with the ability to accept oversubscriptions at Auckland Airport’s discretion. The indicative margin for the Retail Bonds has been revised to 0.75 per cent per annum to 0.80 per cent per annum.
Orders of more than three times the base offer size point to strong investor appetite for the paper. The offers were announced earlier today, 4 November 2026.

Retail and wholesale offers side by side
Auckland Airport launched two offers on the same day. The table below sets out how they compare.
| Offer | Size | Instrument | Indicative margin | Who can participate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Retail Offer | Up to NZ$100,000,000 | Five-year fixed rate bonds | 0.75 to 0.80 per cent per annum (revised) | Institutional investors and New Zealand retail investors |
| Wholesale Offer | Up to NZ$150,000,000 | Floating rate bonds maturing in November 2029 | 0.62 to 0.65 per cent per annum (unchanged) | Certain wholesale investors only |
Retail investors may not participate in the Wholesale Offer. Auckland Airport may, in its absolute discretion and without notice, choose not to proceed with it.
If the Wholesale Offer proceeds, the maximum amount of bonds issued under the Retail Offer and the Wholesale Offer together will not exceed NZ$350,000,000.
The original bond offer launch also set out the expected A- rating from S&P Global Ratings, the NZX Debt Market code AIA300, and a 17 November 2031 maturity that falls later than all six of the airport’s existing quoted bonds.
How a bookbuild works and why it matters
A bookbuild is the process in which lead managers collect bids from investors to help set the final margin and size of a bond issue. Both offers are currently in this phase.
A fixed rate bond pays the same interest rate over its life. A floating rate bond pays interest that moves with a benchmark rate.
A margin is the extra return, or spread, paid above that benchmark rate. A revised or firm margin range shows investors the likely pricing before bids close.
Key terms in the update:
- Orderbook: the total value of firm bids received from investors.
- Indicative margin: the expected spread range, which can be revised during the bookbuild.
- Oversubscriptions: bids above the base offer size, which the issuer may choose to accept.
Key dates and who is running the offers
Retail Offer bids are due by 10:30am NZT on Friday, 6 November 2026. Further details of the Retail Offer are set out in the Terms Sheet attached to the launch announcement.
The Joint Lead Managers for the Retail Offer are:

- Bank of New Zealand
- Forsyth Barr Capital Markets Limited
The Joint Lead Managers for the Wholesale Offer are:
- ANZ Bank New Zealand Limited
- Bank of New Zealand
The Wholesale Offer terms sheet has not been released via NZX and will be made available by the Joint Lead Managers only to certain wholesale investors.
The bids deadline on 6 November 2026 is the next checkpoint for the bookbuild.
