Acusensus awarded $210M ACT traffic enforcement contract
Acusensus Limited (ASX:ACE) has signed a new Master Services Agreement with the ACT Government, represented by the City and Environment Directorate, in what the company describes as a territory-wide traffic enforcement contract. The agreement was executed by Acusensus Australia Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary.
The estimated total contract value is $210M (excluding GST) should options to extend be exercised, while the initial five-year term carries a value of approximately $63M (excluding GST). The $210M figure depends on both extension options being exercised, so only the initial term value reflects the base commitment.
The staged rollout of the replacement and expanded enforcement solutions is expected to commence in mid-2027. For investors, a multi-year, territory-wide award adds contract visibility for the company.

Services and enforcement solutions
Under the contract, services include the provision, operation and maintenance of enforcement cameras, as well as the provision of mid-office software solutions for the Territory to perform adjudication processes. Delivery will be through a combination of software solutions, fixed-site enforcement solutions and transportable enforcement solutions, including:
- Multifunction trailer based enforcement for combinations of mobile phone, seatbelt, speed, average speed and vehicle of interest detection
- Trailer based speed enforcement
- Vehicle based speed enforcement
- Fixed-site red-light and speed cameras
The mix of hardware, operations and software points to a service footprint that extends beyond detection alone.
From detection provider to enforcement partner
Acusensus Founder and Managing Director Alexander Jannink framed the award as a step-up in the company’s role in the territory.
Alexander Jannink, Founder and Managing Director
“This landmark contract elevates our role in the ACT from a specialist detection provider to a comprehensive enforcement partner, introducing red-light, speed and average speed enforcement alongside our existing mobile phone and seatbelt offence detection systems…”
The announcement describes a “long-standing relationship” with the ACT Government, and Jannink said the company is proud to continue supporting its Vision Zero road safety objectives.
With this contract, the ACT joins WA in utilising the full multifunction enforcement camera solutions offered by Acusensus.
How AI-enabled road safety enforcement works
Acusensus describes its technology as artificial intelligence (AI) enabled road safety solutions. According to the company, its systems provide anywhere, anytime digital evidence that can be used in conjunction with law enforcement, and are used to detect offences such as mobile phone use, seatbelt compliance and speeding.
Mid-office software sits between camera capture and enforcement. In this contract, it is the software the Territory will use to perform adjudication processes, which the announcement does not describe in further technical detail.
The structure matters to investors because the contract is a multi-year service arrangement covering camera provision, operation and maintenance, rather than a one-off hardware sale. The announcement does not disclose revenue recognition, margins or earnings impact.
Expanding Australian footprint and what to watch
Alongside the ACT agreement, Acusensus holds contracts in several other jurisdictions, including:
- Mobile phone, or mobile phone and seatbelt, enforcement in New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia
- Speed enforcement programs in New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia
The company also supplies customers internationally, though the announcement does not provide further detail.
What to watch
- The start of the staged rollout, expected to commence in mid-2027
- The two options to extend for up to a further five years each
- Future updates from the company
The announcement does not disclose annual revenue contribution, margins, capital expenditure or the timing of the option decisions.
