Immutep Earns ASCO Poster Spot With Data Linking Efti to Survival Gains
Immutep secures ASCO 2026 poster presentation for eftilagimod alfa clinical data
Immutep (ASX: IMM) has had an abstract accepted for poster presentation at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) 2026 Annual Meeting, scheduled for 29 May – 2 June 2026 in Chicago, Illinois. The presentation will be delivered by Professor Martin Forster from UCL Cancer Institute, UK, during the Developmental Therapeutics—Immunotherapy sessions on 30 May 2026 from 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM CDT at Poster Board 359 (Abstract #2569).
ASCO represents the world’s largest oncology gathering, with more than 40,000 expected attendees including physicians, industry representatives, researchers, patient advocates, and investment analysts. Abstract acceptance at ASCO is competitive and signals peer recognition of scientific merit within the global oncology research community.
For ASX-listed clinical-stage biotechs, ASCO visibility can attract US institutional attention and validate the commercial potential of pipeline assets, particularly for dual-listed companies like Immutep (NASDAQ: IMMP).

What is ASCO and why does it matter for biotech investors?
The ASCO Annual Meeting serves as the premier global forum for oncology research and drug development updates. The conference brings together the oncology ecosystem, from practising physicians and academic researchers to pharmaceutical executives and institutional investors monitoring clinical-stage therapeutic candidates.
Abstract acceptance is competitive and indicates that submitted research has passed scientific peer review for relevance and quality. For investors tracking clinical development timelines, ASCO presentations often serve as inflection points that drive share price movements and catalyse partnership discussions, particularly when novel mechanisms of action or compelling efficacy data are presented.
For ASX-listed biotechnology companies with US expansion ambitions, ASCO provides direct access to American oncology opinion leaders and NASDAQ-focused institutional capital, making it a strategically valuable platform beyond the scientific merits of the presentation itself.
Efti’s mechanism of action and clinical data highlights
The accepted abstract is titled “Impact of eftilagimod alfa, an APC activator via MHC class II, on lymphocyte activation and survival outcomes in metastatic cancer patients.” Eftilagimod alfa (efti) functions as an antigen-presenting cell (APC) activator targeting MHC Class II receptors.
The poster will present cumulative clinical and translational data from multiple late-stage cancer studies, demonstrating that efti induces rapid and sustained lymphocyte activation. Critically, immune activation markers were associated with improved overall survival outcomes in patients with metastatic disease, supporting the clinical relevance of efti’s mechanism of action.
The data presented were collected from earlier clinical trials initiated prior to TACTI-004. The TACTI-004 immune data collection has not yet been completed, and no TACTI-004 data is included in this presentation.
Key Clinical Finding
Across multiple late-stage cancer studies, immune activation markers induced by eftilagimod alfa were associated with improved overall survival outcomes in patients with metastatic disease.
This translational evidence linking mechanism of action to survival outcomes strengthens the biological rationale underpinning efti’s Phase III development programme.

What this means for Immutep’s investment case
ASCO acceptance forms part of Immutep’s broader strategy to build scientific credibility for efti ahead of pivotal readouts. The Company’s dual listing (ASX: IMM; NASDAQ: IMMP) positions it to leverage US investor exposure from ASCO participation, particularly among institutional funds that monitor clinical-stage oncology assets.
Whilst this presentation does not constitute a data catalyst in itself, it maintains momentum and visibility during the clinical development phase when biotechnology companies must balance regulatory timelines with investor communication. ASCO presentations serve as touchpoints for institutional investors and potential pharmaceutical partners evaluating in-licensing opportunities or collaboration structures for novel immunotherapy candidates.
The focus on translational data linking immune activation to survival outcomes may be particularly relevant for investors assessing the biological plausibility of efti’s mechanism ahead of larger pivotal trial readouts.
