RocketDNA Ltd Signs Deswik MOU to Integrate Drone Data Into Mining Software
RocketDNA partners with Sandvik-owned Deswik to embed drone data into global mining software
RocketDNA Ltd (ASX: RKT) has executed a non-binding, non-exclusive Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Deswik Mining Consultants (Australia) Pty Limited, part of Sandvik’s Digital Mining Technologies division. The agreement, dated 9 July 2026, brings the company’s autonomous drone data directly into one of the mining industry’s most widely used design platforms.
Under the MOU, Deswik will develop an importer within Deswik.CAD that connects directly to RocketDNA’s API, drawing SiteTube® data into the Deswik.CAD model space.
The collaboration was triggered by a tier-one mining customer running both platforms, which requested a direct integration between the two systems. Rather than building a one-off link for a single site, the parties intend for the integration to become part of the Deswik.CAD product, with a planned global release base across more than 20 countries.

What the collaboration delivers
RocketDNA captures survey data using its autonomous xBot® drone fleet. That data is then processed and stored on SiteTube®, the company’s cloud platform.
Under the terms of the MOU, Deswik will build an importer in Deswik.CAD that authenticates to RocketDNA’s API, displays the available SiteTube® folders and files, and imports them directly into the Deswik.CAD model space. Importantly, the parties have agreed a framework to develop the integration at the product level rather than as a single-site connection.
The MOU also sets out reciprocal commercial arrangements:
-
Deswik to provide Deswik.CAD licences to RocketDNA for testing, demonstration and integration development on approved projects.
-
RocketDNA to promote Deswik.CAD when demonstrating its products to customers.
-
Deswik to showcase RocketDNA as an integration partner across its marketing activities.
For RocketDNA, the work establishes a direct path from xBot® data capture into the planning environment its mining customers already use, deepening the connection between its data output and everyday customer workflows.
Stephen Rowles, Product Manager – Survey, Deswik
“Bringing high-frequency drone survey data directly into Deswik.CAD removes a step that surveyors and engineers have been working around for years. The integration with RocketDNA’s API is a practical extension of the Deswik.CAD model space, and we are pleased to work with the RocketDNA team to deliver it.”
Why the Deswik integration matters for RocketDNA investors
Deswik.CAD is a mine design and modelling product. Deswik itself is described as the global leader in mining software and was acquired by Sandvik in 2022, forming part of the group’s Digital Mining Technologies division. Its integrated suite supports surface and underground operations across more than 20 countries.
At present, mining engineers typically move drone survey data into their planning software manually. The proposed importer would remove that step, feeding geospatial data straight into the design environment.
For RocketDNA, aligning its data output with an industry-standard planning platform used across more than 20 countries could expand its addressable reach without the company having to build that distribution itself. The strategic logic is straightforward: meet customers inside the software they already run.
The full enterprise rollout of Skylink across all customers by 30 June 2026 produced more than 1,000 monthly active users and approximately 25,000 pre-booked drone missions, establishing the scale of the existing customer base that a Deswik.CAD integration would serve.
The validation angle is also notable. The partnership was initiated by a shared tier-one mining customer, signalling real-world demand for a direct connection rather than a vendor-led concept.
It is worth flagging that the announcement does not disclose any revenue share, development funding or contract value. Commercial terms will be set in a separate definitive agreement.
Christopher Clark, Managing Director & CEO, RocketDNA
“The partnership began with a common customer who wanted RocketDNA and Deswik working together to build an integration directly into Deswik.CAD, which would deliver real-time geospatial drone data and streamline their reporting workflow. We’re excited to collaborate with Deswik on this integration and look forward to the overall benefits it brings to our autonomous xBot solution.”

Understanding the MOU terms and what comes next
The MOU is non-binding in respect of its commercial provisions, though certain clauses do carry legal weight. The table below summarises the key terms.
| Feature | Detail |
|---|---|
| Nature | Non-binding (commercial provisions), non-exclusive |
| Term | 12 months |
| Termination | Either party on four weeks’ notice; auto-terminates on execution of formal agreement |
| Legally binding provisions | Confidentiality, IP arrangements, software usage terms, anti-bribery/corruption compliance (survive termination) |
| Commercial terms | Revenue share / development funding to be set in a separate definitive agreement |
The MOU does not commit either party to a definitive transaction, and each remains free to enter similar arrangements with other parties. There is no certainty that a definitive agreement will be reached, and nothing in the MOU creates a joint venture, partnership or similar business entity.
Each party retains ownership of its existing intellectual property, with reciprocal non-exclusive licences over foreground intellectual property developed specifically for the integration.
Next steps
Technical scoping under the MOU will commence shortly. RocketDNA has stated it will update the market on material developments in line with its continuous disclosure obligations.
For investors, the near-term focus will be whether early technical work translates into a definitive agreement and, ultimately, a place inside the Deswik.CAD product used by mining operations worldwide.
